It's Match Day and the Utes take it all (again)!
The news is that I matched to the University of Utah Family Medicine Residency program. While we're disappointed that Provo didn't work out, we are staying in Utah and getting trained at a great program! Still need to work out the logistics because commuting is really going to stink....

Labor Day on the Rocks
We decided to escape the rainy Labor Day in Orem with a trip south to our friend's old topaz claim to play around in better weather. We managed to get as much dirt and rocks in our hair, eyes and noses as possible. (I'm still picking little rocks out of my hair....)
And to make the day extra special, Will treated us to some of his favorite musical selections from "Weird Al" Yankovic and The Wiz soundtrack as we "eased on down the road...." I know you're all jealous you missed out on that experience!
The dirt doesn't look too bad from here!

Out with the Gold!
Last summer we decided we couldn't take our circa 1977 Harvest Gold kitchen any longer. It was nearly all original...the cabinets, Formica counter and matching gold stove. But why stop there? Out came the dividing wall between the living room and kitchen too. Here's a "before" picture. Yes, it's as tiny as it looks!
Then there was the issue about the family room downstairs. The rust colored carpet was great for hiding stains and the dark wood paneling surrounding the fireplace only added to that ala 70's ambiance. But since we were in the mood to fix the place up, the outdated downstairs got a facelift while we were at it....
